Soule School PTA and Volunteer Orientation Minutes

Meeting Date 11/7/07

6:30pm-7pm

 

Attendance – Anna Parrill, Kellie Annicelli, Jackie Buck, Marianne Harris, Christine Cochran, Jennifer Gulezian, Tara Hailey, Laurie Morgan, Susan Stanganelli, Kristine Nippert, Tracy Hoover, Nancy Russell

 

 

I     Fundraiser Committee-

 

·        A fundraiser committee has been formed but has not met yet

·        It was voting on that the committee can make decisions to run small fundraisers throughout the year without bringing this to a general vote at a PTA meeting

·        We decided to do CC’s rocking idea to see Pie Guy pies in December

·        All fundraisers ideas will be run by Anna first and we must make sure they do not conflict with other events

·        We will hold off on the apple ( ?) special notes to kids to be a January fundraiser..   

·        Laurie Morgan – cookie lee idea

·        Friendlies night

 

I.                    Walkie-Talkies –

·        A letter was sent to the lions club, they will not be donating

·        2 other letters have gone out ( Kristine Nippert) still no response as of this time

·        It was voted at the meeting to replace the line item of staging of $1500 to go to the walkie talkies since that is the immediate need.

·        If the donations come through we will refund the $$ to the staging line item

 

 

II.                 Pizza Bingo

·        Tara gave an update: we are in good shape with volunteers, bingo supplies, toy donations, pizza place rocks! Thanks Christine C..we currently have 50 pizza orders

·        Anna mentioned we need to tape off the stage with caution tape ( Tara will get it)

 

III.               Holiday Store-

·        Laurie Morgan gave an update of the Holiday store

·        Email has gone out to all volunteers and we look good for help on those days

·        She has received all the items and it looks like we will need more

 

      IV Holiday Parade  (Christine could probably add more as well)

·        Christine C gave an update of the Holiday Parade

·        Polar Express is the theme

·        Wooden sides for the float will be made, smoke machine in the middle

·        Kids in PJ’s and robes

·        ??? Missed something about baskets needed for the kids

 

V      Principle Matters-

·        A very big Thank you for the walkie Talkies

·        Mike Peter’s big thank you for all his help. Anna wants us to donate something to the Santa fund in his name ( I will also put a thank you in the newsletter)

·        Report cards are going out. Anna and the teachers are looking for honest feedback on the format

·        Parent Teacher conferences next week

·        Special Friends Day coming up

·        Subcommittee to get the elderly in the school

·        Thank you to the PTA for the donation for the nutritional shoe pins

·        Yearbook
