Board

The board met to discuss the budget, Volunteer Appreciation Week, Fall Fundraiser, Reflections Program for 09/10 year, Year End Breakfast/Senior Breakfast, Executive Board Voting and other miscellaneous items.

Budget

Doing well since last report, we have $6275 and must pay out about $3700 plus the cost of the Artworks.  We expect to come in under budget for year books since there were fewer pages.  Cut off for turning in receipts for reimbursement is June 22, 2009.

New Business

Fall Fundraiser – Genevieve pulled in less than the fitness fundraiser in the past so we will meet over the summer to discuss all options.

Volunteer Appreciation Week – We qualify for the Blue Ribbon Award and are almost ready to submit our application.

Reflections 09/10 Year – Waiting for National to send out forms so we can distribute to the children before the end of the year so they may get an early start and use the summer to work on their ideas/projects.

Year End/Senior Breakfast – Year End Breakfast is being held on June 8th and we will purchase juice, muffins and watermelon.  Senior Breakfast in on June 12th and will include juice and muffins. Looking for volunteers for both events to help purchase and set up.

Executive Board Voting – Christine Cochran was voted in as President for a 1 year term, Tara Hailey was voted in as Vice President for a 2 year term, Jennifer Metcalf was voted in as Co-Treasurer for a 1 year term and Joan Kurr was voted in as Recording Secretary for a 1 year term.

Principals Report – Looking to maintain playground mulch on the budget for another year, would like the PTA to make a donation to the 4th Grade Granite Street Fit Kids, and Dental Program.  In the Dental Program 85 children were evaluated and 12 children received emergency services on a pro-bono basis.  The 5th grade will be making a rock garden and the school is donating books in their names for the incoming class.  June 17th at 6:00 pm is the Kindergarten Orientation and volunteers are needed and expecting 26 incoming Kindergarteners.  September 2nd will be the first day of school.  1st, 2nd, & 5th grade testing will start the end of the week and go into next week and will be computerized.  4th Grade just finished NECAP testing.  5th Grade Move up is on June 2nd.
