Board
The board met to discuss the budget, Volunteer Appreciation
Week, fundraising, Earth Day, Yard Sale, Box Tops, By Law Changes Vote, Year
Book, Board Nominations and other miscellaneous items.
Budget
Netted $357.00 as of date for the Ice Cream Social. Yard Sale made $240, Pie Guy made $189 and the Calendar Raffle made $1366. Hoping go into the New Year with $1500 and we anticipate reaching that goal. Field Trips still need to be paid out.
New Business
Volunteer Appreciation Week – Looking to switch out our usual volunteer gift with a chocolate token gift instead. Gifts should be given the during the week of breakfast. The 4th week in April is Volunteer Appreciation Week. Blue Ribbon Award data should be submitted by June 12th.
Fundraising – Calendar Raffle very low only receiving $1366 in funds. T-Shirts brought in about $160 but those funds were used to pay for the bracelets which are still selling. Artworks are in progress with 100 outstanding.
Earth Day – Popsicles will given to the kids and staff that day. The school will send out a memo to remind families to bring in rakes and other such supplies.
Yard Sale – Sold 24 tables and earned $240. Need to make sue that it appears on the sign a couple of days in advance and it hits the school calendar.
Box Top Update – We went over our goal and made $550 for this year and are working on accumulating for next year. Have a new promotion to win an ice cream party for the class that collects the most box tops. Going to use the leftover ice cream from the Ice Cream Social.
By Law Changes Vote – Change the number of committee numbers needed to motion. The committee member must be made up of 3 or more people to facilitate the nomination process. (The purpose of this committee is to find people interested in participating or would make good candidates for board members.) We voted on having a defined fiscal years as August 1st to July 31st.
Year Book – Presale was done during the Ice Cream Social. We will include it in the Newsletter. First 30 pages are due May 1st and the remainder May 15th.
Board Nominations – Christine Cochran has been nominated as President for a one year term and Tara Hailey has been nominated as Vice President for a two year term. Joan Kurr has been nominated for a one year term as Recording Secretary. Jen Metcalf was nominated for a one year term as Co-Treasurer.
Teacher Appreciation Week – A garden party theme is being planned. We will be offering a giant salad bar for the luncheon. Hand massages will be provided and product will be purchased for a raffle basket. Pots have been purchased for teacher plant gifts. Peggy purchased lotions and soaps for the Teachers Lounge. Invitations will be send out on Monday with a packet of seeds. In need of arrangements for the tables at the luncheon.
Principals Report – Earth Day cleanup is coming and would like
volunteers. 5th Grade move up day is the first Friday. Angry
Housewives Eating Bon Bons will
be discussed at the Book Chat on May 14t at
