February 15 PTA Meeting Minutes 2010

Attendees: Peg Cain, Joan Kurr, Becky Edgington, Christine Cochran, Jen Metcalf, Faith Johnson, Anna Parril, Tara Hailey, Kristine Nippert, Sherry Kilgus Kramer.

Open Board Positions:

President, Co- Treasurer, Volunteer Co- Coordinators , Media Secretary, need to vote on these positions in April of 2010.

Calendar Raffle: Discussed prize incentives for kids to encourage better sales. Sell in April, pull winners in May.

Voted on Minutes for November and January.

Events: Game Night work going on with PTA and teachers. Looking for game donations.

Volunteer hours need to be submitted to Becky Edgington.

Next Book Chat: Catcher in the Rye by JD Salinger.

Speed Painter: Need to sell 100 tickets per school. 8$ each ticket, $30 for a family. We will have over 18 raffle prizes and for everyone buying a ticket, they will get a raffle ticket for these prizes. Working with Kiwanis and other Salem Elementary schools. Joan Kurr is contact for this event.

Principals Report: Progress Report and NECAP score to come out in March 5^th.

Talent Show: Thursday March 18^th at Salem High School .

The Year Book is looking for pictures of all Soule School Events. Please contact Sharon Morton for information.

School Board Presentation of Readers Workshop can be seen on School Board Website.

Box Tops: prize incentives are helping kids bring in more and more of these. We got a check for 700$ in December of 2009. Go Peggy!
