Budget

The 2008 – 2009 Budget: Current balance is $4500, but is earmarked for upcoming events. The Balance does not include the calendar raffle.

New Business

Shaw’s Receipts Program – The program was approved and Soule School will receive 1% of all grocery receipts. The drop-off box is right outside the front office.  Also approved was a grant for $250 in future food purchases.

Grants – Target reading grant will be available after March 5th.  Lowes – Toolbox for Education very specific in need.  Still waiting to hear a response from Best Buy on a computer grant.

Calendar Raffle – April is the month the raffle calendar starts and has secured 18 out of 24….Great Job Christine.

Deliberative Session Results – Kindergarten is in the Budget. Great turnout from the residents.  March 10th is the voting day.

Cultural Festival – Things went well. The food from the high school did not work out but they did not charge.  The turn out was a good representation of the school.  The dancing and games went well but more volunteers needed.  The combined committee will re-evaluate whether to do the program again next year or offer something different.

Family Movie Night – Numbers were low but could be because of the holiday weekend.  This program will be re-evaluated for changes.

Board Nominations – Two positions are up this year: President and Vice President.  Nominations occur at the April meeting and if you are interested contact anyone on the board.  You must attend the April 21st meeting.  A flyer will be going home. Voting takes place in May.

Principals Report – Single sort recycling has started at the Soule and hopefully in Salem….please support the effort.  Recess Rangers are tutoring younger grades 2 days a week.  Pennies for patients will start in March.  Full School assembly on March 2nd.  March 5th is the Talent Show Tryouts, March 18th is the dress Rehearsal and the 19th is the Talent Show.  March 24th book chat – The Middle Place, Kelly Corrigan at 6:30, join us.  Robert Pottle, Author in Residence on March 24t all day.
